LATEST UPDATES
ETL and Eurovent alignment: Energy-efficient evaporative air coolers
The ETL and Eurovent Certification are working together to streamline the listing process for energy-efficient evaporative air coolers, making it easier and more cost-effective for manufacturers. This collaboration allows for the reuse of existing Eurovent test reports, reducing duplicate testing and simplifying certification. As evaporative air coolers gain traction in sectors like data centres, this alignment ensures that only the top performing energy saving products are featured on the ETL, helping businesses reduce energy costs and meet their sustainability targets.
Insights from the 2024 Baxi Installer Skills Survey event
At the Baxi Installer Skills Survey event, experts discussed the UK's transition to heat pumps as part of the UK’s net-zero goals. The ETL team were invited and gathered insights from the 2024 survey, noting growing installer interest but challenges like low consumer demand and the need for more training. With only 9% of installers actively installing heat pumps, the ETL can help to drive demand by offering independently verified and accredited products, simplifying purchaser options for sustainable solutions.
A new wave of Electrolux Professional products is now listed on the ETL, with 31 models added to the Combination Steam Ovens sub-technology and 26 models added to the Professional Refrigerated Storage Cabinets (PRSCs) in the last month. Their recent ETL listing not only highlights the brand’s commitment to quality but also reinforces customer trust. Electrolux shared that: “Being ETL listed boosts awareness of our brand and the quality of our products. It reassures our customers that Electrolux Professional products meet the highest standards. This certification strengthens our reputation as a trusted and compliant choice, helping us stand out in a competitive market and build enduring customer confidence.”
Victor Manufacturing expands ETL listings with Refridgerated Display Cabinets
Victor Manufacturing Limited has added two new products to the Refrigerated Display Cabinets (RDCs) sub-technology on the ETL, the MAXI150VDMTECO+ and MAXI150VDSTECO+. These additions further demonstrate their commitment to providing sustainable, energy-saving solutions for the commercial refrigeration sector.
This brings the total ETL-listed RDCs to over 130, offering buyers a wide variety of models to fit their needs.
Shape the future of the ETL with New Technology Proposals
By submitting a New Technology Proposal (NTP), you can play a key role in shaping the future of the ETL. In fact, recent categories like Battery Energy Storage and Showers were introduced through NTPs that were proposed by manufacturers. Take part in the process and actively evolve and expand the ETL scheme.
